Eizo FS2332: IPS for Gaming

Eizo has just unveiled a new display in their Foris series aimed at gamers. The new 23-inch FS2332 comes with IPS panels, Full HD resolution and LED backlighting technology. Eizo promises good response time and very low input lag, which makes the FS2332 an interesting alternative to Dell’s IPS based monitors–especially for the gaming crowd.

Last year Eizo launched an FS2331 model with a VA panel and now Eizo has announced the new FS2332 model. The FS2332 is designed specifically for games and comes with an IPS panel with LED backlighting, bringing the power consumption down to just 20W. The monitor has 2 HDMI inputs, 1 DVI-D and 1 D-Sub (VGA). Its HDMI inputs can be used to connect Blu-ray players, game consoles and so on.

A new proprietary feature from EIZO is called “Smart Resolution,” which analyzes both still images and moving pictures with noise and blurring and then adjusts for optimum reproduction. Eizo also mentions a response time of 6 ms (G2G) and input lag of less than 1 frame. Amateur photographers and enthusiast consumers also have something to look forward to in the FS2332, as it supports Eizo EasyPIX calibration. EasyPIX can be used to calibrate the brightness, color temperature and gamma and consists of the Eizo EX1 color sensor software.

The screen also come s with 10-bit gamma correction that uses a 10-bit LUT (look-up table,) which analyzes the image using more than one billion colors before they are displayed on the LCD panel. Eizo’s FORIS FS2332 will be available in July 2011.
