Dell’s new giant 30-inch U3011 is based on an IPS panel and comes calibrated from the factory. The monitor has an extremely high resolution of 2560×1600 pixels at the 16:10 aspect ratio. U3011 also boasts a response time of 7 ms G2G and a quality IPS panel that Dell calls PremiumColor.
The panel in the Dell U3011 has a wide color space and is also calibrated at the factory in both AdobeRGB and sRGB profiles. Furthermore it has a built-in look-up table (LUT) to ensure good color reproduction. In other words, with Dell aim with the U3011 is no doubt the more discerning professional crowd, working with graphic design CAD / CAM, photography and other demanding tasks.
In terms of physical adjustments, the stand has height, swivel and tilt adjustment, but no pivot mode. Its design is what we are now accustomed to from dell – a discreet matte black. Dell has integrated a number of connections, including DisplayPort, 2xHDMI 1.3, 2xDVI-D connector with HDCP, D-SUB (VGA) and component, as well as audio connectors with 5.1support. Other welcome additions to the U3011 is a 4-port USB hub and a 7-in-1 card reader.
