Dell U3011 – New 30-Inch IPS Coming Soon

The first details about a new 30-inch Dell monitor have turned up. It is apparently to be called U3011 and has been confirmed by several images of both the screen and the box. According to various sources, the Dell U3011 is indeed an IPS panel with the very generous resolution 2560×1600 pixels.

The first pictures of the screen and the box it ships in were unveiled on the web a short while ago, but no further details. It is confirmed that the screen will use a 10-bit H-IPS panel from LG.

The 2560×1600 panel comes in the 16:10 format with a contrast ratio of 1000:1 or 10000:1 dynamic, a response time of 7 ms gray-to-gray and 270 cd/m2 brightness. Furthermore, the IPS panel has a color depth of 1.07 billion colors. Dell’s U3011 also comes pre-calibrated from the factory, just like the previous models.

U3011 can be connected with analog VGA, DVI, component, HDMI or DisplayPort. Its design is similar to theĀ  U2410H and U2711, which means you can adjust the screen tilt, height, swivel and pivot functions.

Dell U3011 is expected to start shipping in October.
