BenQ is one of the major monitor manufacturers in the world, and now they claim to be the first to hit the market with screens that combine Vertical Alignment technologt with LED backlight for lower power consumption and exceptionally wide viewing angles. VA-based LCD panels provide effective viewing angles of 178 degrees while maintaining accurate color reproduction and brightness better than conventional TN panels.
VA LED-based panels bring additional benefits to the table such as an ultra-high contrast ratio and deeper black levels. BenQ begins its focus on VA LED displays with three new models in the EW and VW series. Two 24-inch models – EW2420 and VW2420, and a 21.5-inch model -VW2220. Each display comes with 8-bit panels and are equipped with both DVI and HDMI 1.3 inputs for digital video sources. The EW models get an extra HDMI input, a 4-port USB hub, and 1.5-watt stereo speakers.
BenQ’s new monitors will be available in Taiwan this summer with international availability to follow later on.
