Asus PA246Q Released: New 24-inch Monitor with P-IPS

Asus PA246Q

The Asus PA246Q (PA stands for ProArt, apparently) marks the start of a new lineup from Asus designed to appeal to professionals who won’t settle for anything other than full-fledged P-IPS panels. The specifications include sizes up to 24 inches at 1920 x 1200 px resolution, 98 percent of Adobe RGB color space and the 178-degree viewing angles that you only find in high-end monitors and a 1000:1 contrast ratio.

Another key feature in the PA246Q is its response time: an insignificant 6ms – a very good number for IPS panels, as this is often the (only) weak spot for this type of display. Moreover, the new monitors come with a number of added features intended specifically for graphic designers, photographers and other demanding users, including the ability to measure distances via the built-in OSD menu. On a side note, the ‘P’ in P-IPS is an acronym for ‘Professional’ IPS.
