LaCie 324i – Professional 24-Inch P-IPS

LaCie is perhaps the most well-known name in monitors – more so for its external storage devices – but apparently the manufacturer is also capable of producing high-end displays. The LaCie 324i is a 24-inch LCD monitor that comes with a P-IPS panel with 10-bit color depth, which covers 102% of NTSC color gamut and 98% of AdobeRGB.

LaCie’s 324i is obviously no ordinary consumer monotor; the brand new Professional IPS panel technology emerged this year and is as the name suggests it is aimed directly at the really demanding users who won’t just settle for any type of IPS display. LaCie is building its 24-inch monitor around a 16:10 panel with 1920×1200 resolution and a static contrast ratio of 1,000:1. LaCie specifies a response time of 6ms (GtG), wide viewing angles (178 /178 ° W) and a high brightness of 400 cd/m2.

With a 10-bit panel, the monitor can display an entire 1.073 billion colors and can be connected to the graphics card and other equipment through DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI or component inputs. The monitor also has input and output for analog audio signals, but no integrated speakers.

It is a solid piece at 24.25 lbs (11kg) and consumes a fair amount of power (100W max, 2W standby). But with the impressive aforementioned features this is a screen for the discerning user. More information and full specs here.
