ViewSonic VP2770-LED

The VP2770 (LED) is the first 27-inch IPS panel-equipped model from ViewSonic with the WQHD standard (2560×1440), like ASUS with its PB278Q. However, the manufacturer decided to opt for the the new PLS panels from Samsung.


The PB278Q is Asus’ entry into the world of high-grade 27-inch monitors and a direct competitor to other high-end offerings such as the Dell U2711 and others. It’s been on the market for a while and turned into a popular monitor for professionals and enthusiasts thanks to good performance and a reasonable price range.


LG has been betting heavily on IPS monitors in the last few years. This is a most welcome move, as IPS panels offer better contrast and a much better viewing angles than TN models. IPS and related high-end technology has also improved a great deal on their old weakness: poor (long) response times.
